When the time came for me to select and book a hotel in Sydney, I decided on the Pullman Sydney Hyde Park after the nice experience I had at Pullman Central Park, Jakarta. Once again, the Pullman group did not disappoint. As my schedule in Sydney was pretty packed with MBFWA activities and I was running around outside most of the time, I didn’t get to spend as much time as I’d have liked at the hotel. The times that I did get to hang around though, was always fantastic. The staff were all really nice and helpful from the moment I checked in, I almost didn’t mind that I was staying at the hotel on my own.
The best part of the hotel is it’s location – it’s centrally located just across the Hyde Park and is a short 10-15 minutes walk to Pitt Street where most of the retail shops like Myer, David Jones, Queen Victoria Building and eateries are located. I had the most wonderful Mexican dinner at Mejico located at 105 Pitt Street and it’s a must-go when you do go to Sydney. You have to try the guacamole, soft shell crab taco and churros! Cab rides to other parts around Sydney like Carriageworks where MBFWA was located, Surrey Hills where most of the cafes are and Bondi Beach were also short and very manageable. This location was perfect for someone like me who was running all around Sydney. 
Aside from the cosy room with the amazing huge tub where I spent most nights in after long and tiring days out (in heels!), my favourite bit about the hotel was the beyond amazing view from both my room and the pool. My room was facing the Hyde Park so it was really nice and calming to just sit in the room and look out. At times when I felt like being outdoors, I headed to the pool for the unobstructed view. Check out the view from my picture above. How crazy amazing is that! I could hang at the pool with a latte all day and never get enough. 
Most people tell me that it doesn’t really matter which hotel you stay in when you’re on vacation because you never spend that much time in there. I’ve always thought otherwise however, because I think it’s really important to be able to come back to a nice and comfortable place to rest up after running around all day. You really do want to feel relaxed in your ‘lil home away from home after a long day. Plus, won’t you feel more recharged after a good night’s rest and feel like you have more energy to explore the next day? 
I’m so glad that the Pullman made my both recent trips so comfortable and perfect.

#MBFWA

It’s been slightly over a week since I’ve been back from MBFWA in Sydney and I’m still reeling in excitement a little over the whole experience. Being backstage for the Michael Lo Sordo show (thank you, Skin Inc!) and watching all the behind the scenes action unfold in front of my eyes was an eye-opener. From seeing the models arrive, to them getting prepped and ready for runway – it was all rather chaotic.  So many people are involved to put a show together and before you know it, the show is over in about 20 minutes. All that prep work for 20 minutes! 
It was so lovely getting to meet and chat with one of the designers, Michael Lo Sordo backstage. He was surprisingly really calm before the show. I can imagine that I’d be a bundle of nerves if I were in his shoes! Velda, my fashion-bunny companion throughout this trip and I even bumped into him at a The Grounds of Alexandria a couple of days later. What a nice coincidence. 
The both of us people watched in between shows – it’s really fun to see so many people dressed up, took OOTDs for each other – I love the white playsuit that I’m wearing (thank you for dressing me for the shows, Miss Selfridge!), and did a pit stop at Bill’s Cafe at Surrey Hills to fuel up – the ricotta hotcakes are to die for. What fun. 🙂

I did not expect to return to Sydney so soon after my 2 day escapade in the beautiful city last year. What brought me over this time was the Mercedes Benz Fashion Week, with an opportunity to go backstage for the Michael Lo Sordo show – how could I say no. I flew in a couple of days earlier before the show to enjoy the city. It was also really a chance for me to take a short break and to gain fresh perspectives and inspiration to fuel my role as Creative Director at Wardrobe Theory. 
For those of you are wondering why Wardrobe Theory has been so quiet on the new arrivals front, we’ve been really busy designing and prepping for full collections of ‘Wardrobe Theory Originals’. Yes, we’re moving towards becoming a full-fledged label and I can’t tell you how excited I am! I’ve designed every single piece in the upcoming collections and this whole process is taking longer than it should as I’m super fussy about quality and cuts. I’m making sure that everything is perfect before we are ready to present the collections to you. For a ‘lil sneak peek, I’m wearing a pair of high-waisted tailored shorts from one of the coming collections in this series of pictures. 🙂
These pictures were taken at The Rocks – one of my favourite places to visit in Sydney. You can access the Sydney Harbour Bridge from here, head to the Museum of Contemporary Art, or walk around and enjoy the beautiful and quaint architecture of the buildings around this area. Definitely lots of photo op moments! The cafe on the top floor of the Museum of Contemporary Art is a must-visit when you’re here. The view of the Harbour Bridge and Sydney Opera House is beyond amazing.
