Birthday Boy

This is the third month that I’m blogging for Tocco Tenero. This month, I picked for myself a cream satchel bag with yellow and dark blue woven details on the bag flap. I really like the combination of colours and the details on this bag. Once again, I am very impressed by the attention paid to small details that make Tocco Tenero bags so useable and pretty much, perfect. This small bag came with a removable/adjustable shoulder strap, 4 compartments, one with a zipper and another with a magnetic snap button, an inner zip compartment and an outer compartment with magnetic snap enclosure. That’s a lot of compartments for such a little bag! I love that I can fit all my stuff and organize them nicely in their spaces.
I took the bag out to celebrate the boy and Diana’s birthday with the boy’s gang (whom I’ve fondly grown to love) on Friday. After taking some outfit shots at Haji Lane, we trooped to Golden Mile Tower for chicken rice steamboat at Thien Kee Restaurant. The chicken rice and hainanese pork chops were really good. Although I can’t say the same for the steamboat (the soup base was rather bland and beside the flavorful chicken rice, I couldn’t quite taste anything from the steamboat), the chicken rice, pork chops and reasonable pricing definitely warrants a 2nd visit. We ended the night with drinks and cake at Shangri-La. From the pictures, you can tell that if you hand a girl a knife, she’ll play killer and want to stab you with it!

Minty Freshness

Matchy nails and outfit. Nails grow at an alarming rate…it’s time for manicure once again soon!
Do you like my haircut?
Got these mint coloured shorts at a steal from H&M a couple of days back and decided to wear them and take the dog, Domo to the groomer’s and run errands. Loving the clean palette I had on, I was glad to have worn light colours because it was so darn hot out. Was feeling slightly nervous about leaving Domo with a new groomer but am glad all turned out good when I picked him up. Love how spiffy and ’round’ he looks everytime he gets a hair cut! 🙂 Sneaked some burger bites in between and it was so good. Absolute comfort food, I love burgers and fries. Maybe I should have been born American!
Haven’t been feeling too hot about things lately, but I got this quote from the drama I’ve been watching, Sopranos and it’s definitely helping me along:

“Sometimes I go about in pity for myself, and all the while a great wind is bearing me across the sky.” – Ojibwa saying
Stay happy & positive people!

Doggies Day Out

I wanted a photo, but got a kiss instead. 🙂

The family took the doggies Domo and Moon to Bishan Park for some play time and run around on Saturday. The dogs always look happiest when they’re out in the open running wild and free. Bishan Park is completely different now from how I remember it with the MacDonald’s, cafes (dog-friendly!) and nice open spaces. Very lovely place to spend an evening if you want some outdoors! We ended the day at Canopy Garden Dining & Bar with some pizzas and pastas. The duck pizza is really good!
I sneaked a shot of the poodle in the basket when her owner scooted into MacDonald’s for some take-out. What a cutie!

A Birthday Celebration

(Photobomber Alert!)

Had a lovely Saturday spent celebrating Karen’s birthday. Lots of food went down at Coca Restaurant followed by delicious cake and lots of merry-making. The night was made complete by a super adorable baby, Emma and 5 lovely dogs. I love the visual feasting I get from beautiful artworks and pieces whenever I head over to her place!
My favourite picture of the dogs:
How sweet is this! 🙂

Head In The Clouds

Spent yesterday trawling the malls, getting bored, heading to a guitar showroom where the boy played and sang some tunes, and ended up at ‘Hood’ the pub where the boy sang even more tunes, impromptu. The guitar showroom was really cosy and nice. I’ve always wished for Pink Flare to have a store like that – away from the bustling malls, in a quaint setting where everything is calm, pretty and cosy. Of course, my dream store does not make any business sense in the retail world so all I can do is keep my head in the clouds, and continue dreaming. 🙂
Have a lovely weekend coming up!
