Seeing Red

I don’t always plan my outfits starting from clothing first. Sometimes, it starts from a pair of shoes that I really want to wear, or a belt, ring, bag or a particular colour that I want to experiment with. Ok, I admit. It usually starts with my newest purchase. šŸ˜€ The neon yellow ring and snake skin belt with yellow accents are my most recent purchase and of course, I was dying to wear them. Yellow is not a usual colour that I go for, but I have been gravitating towards that colour a lot recently and I’m starting to play with that colour from small accents first. And what luck too, I picked for myself this red bag from Tocco Tenero recently only to find that yellow and red matches perfectly. Yay! Ā
The boy and I made a pit-stop en route to dinner to shoot these pictures. We abandoned our initial plans to shoot at a particular building when we spotted this red vintage Volkswagen Beetle. Feeling rather lucky once more, I posed around it, keeping my fingers crossed that I won’t look like an ah lian sports car model. :pĀ

Birthday Boy

This is the third month that I’m blogging for Tocco Tenero. This month, I picked for myself a cream satchel bag with yellow and dark blue woven details on the bag flap. I really like the combination of colours and the details on this bag. Once again, I am very impressed by the attention paid to small details that make Tocco Tenero bags so useable and pretty much, perfect. This small bag came with a removable/adjustable shoulder strap, 4 compartments, one with a zipper and another with a magnetic snap button, an inner zip compartment and an outer compartment with magnetic snap enclosure. That’s a lot of compartments for such a little bag! I love that I can fit all my stuff and organize them nicely in their spaces.Ā
I took the bag out to celebrateĀ the boy and Diana’s birthday with the boy’s gang (whom I’ve fondly grown to love) on Friday. After taking some outfit shots at Haji Lane, we trooped to Golden Mile Tower for chicken rice steamboat at Thien Kee Restaurant. The chicken rice and hainanese pork chops were really good. Although I can’t say the same for the steamboat (the soup base was rather bland and beside the flavorful chicken rice, I couldn’t quite taste anything from the steamboat), the chicken rice, pork chops and reasonable pricing definitely warrants a 2nd visit. We ended the night with drinks and cake at Shangri-La. From the pictures, you can tell that if you hand a girl a knife, she’ll play killer and want to stab you with it!Ā
