Best apple cider ever!
The boy and I were really excited that the Harry Potter exhibition was coming to town. We had thought about going on the 1st opening day, 2nd June as it was his birthday but finally decided against it as it was a Saturday and we’re the sort who are slightly afraid of crowds. We gave ourselves a day off on Thursday and headed to the Arts and Science Museum at MBS for the exhibition. We spent almost 2 wonderful hours marveling at the props, re-dishing story lines and wishing we were part of the Harry Potter World. Sadly, no photography is allowed in the exhibition. (The pictures of the exhibition in this post is mostly taken off the net.) We headed for Beer Fest after the exhibition (thanks for the tickets Louis!) and listened to an awesome ACDC girl cover band. It was also at the fest where I had the yummiest apple cider beer. Gotta start keeping a look out for Somersby’s apple ciders in the market! P/S Harry Potter fans will not want to miss this exhibition!

Birthday Boy

This is the third month that I’m blogging for Tocco Tenero. This month, I picked for myself a cream satchel bag with yellow and dark blue woven details on the bag flap. I really like the combination of colours and the details on this bag. Once again, I am very impressed by the attention paid to small details that make Tocco Tenero bags so useable and pretty much, perfect. This small bag came with a removable/adjustable shoulder strap, 4 compartments, one with a zipper and another with a magnetic snap button, an inner zip compartment and an outer compartment with magnetic snap enclosure. That’s a lot of compartments for such a little bag! I love that I can fit all my stuff and organize them nicely in their spaces.
I took the bag out to celebrate the boy and Diana’s birthday with the boy’s gang (whom I’ve fondly grown to love) on Friday. After taking some outfit shots at Haji Lane, we trooped to Golden Mile Tower for chicken rice steamboat at Thien Kee Restaurant. The chicken rice and hainanese pork chops were really good. Although I can’t say the same for the steamboat (the soup base was rather bland and beside the flavorful chicken rice, I couldn’t quite taste anything from the steamboat), the chicken rice, pork chops and reasonable pricing definitely warrants a 2nd visit. We ended the night with drinks and cake at Shangri-La. From the pictures, you can tell that if you hand a girl a knife, she’ll play killer and want to stab you with it!

Pastel Dreams

I’ve been having pastel dreams of late. Pastel outfit dreams, to be exact. It’s probably all these Spring pastel trend images I’ve been looking at that is causing this subliminal influence. There’s something about pastel that is so dreamy, romantic and pretty. Although there is no seasonal change in Singapore, I still can’t wait to put together some Spring pastel outfits myself!

So for a start, to begin fulfilling my pastel dreams, I got these nude ‘Dolce Vita’ sandals, sand ‘Pedder Red’ wedges and picked this cream/nude bag from ‘Tocco Tenero’ (thank you TT!) These items aren’t exactly pastel coloured, but I figured nude and neutrals are good colours to start building the pastel empire!
First pastel outfit. The baby pink top is from H&M and the white lace shorts are from Pink Flare. 🙂

Even reptiles are pretty pastel coloured!
