Singapore International Film Festival

This is a slightly delayed post of events I attended at the Singapore International Film Festival this year. Alongside the opening screening I blogged about in an earlier entry, I also attended the opening party held at “Overeasy”, the closing party at ‘Butter Factory” and the Silver Screen Awards.
It was indeed refreshing to have been part of these events. Being around so many passionate film makers, producers and people interested in and who loved film helped breathe life into my slight waning passion for films and acting. I had many interesting conversations with different people, and I realise how little I knew about films. It’s time I took a crash course!
The Silver Screen Awards rejuvenated the winners, the nominees and those without entries to kick-start their film producing gear to start churning out wonderful stories and work. Good luck to everyone, I’m looking forward to even more brilliant works next year! 🙂

A gathering of film-makers and the like-minded.

Conversations at Over Easy

Randomly laughing at Butter Factory…at ?! I amuse myself sometimes..

MCYS Family Shoot

I shot a MCYS commercial last week. The theme centered around ‘Family’, and here’s my Dad, Mum and little brother. We are all surrounding Grandma’s hospital bed (not in shot). Though my stint in the commercial was brief, it was an eye-opener working on set with director, David Tsui. I’ve heard so much of his good works.

Here’s the man, – David Tsui
The production house handling this commercial was the same one I worked with a couple of years back for a Johnson’s Acuvue contact lens commercial. It was very interesting to meet many of the same people again and see how much they have changed. I bet they’re thinking the same thing about me!

Congratulations Starlet!

Yipee!! Joanne won the Best Actress award in this year’s Star Awards! Really happy for you girl! All your sweat, tears and hard work has paid off. Congratulations too for your Top 10 award and what’s that other I-Weekly award? Ahhh! Your star is shining bright… Keep shining starlet!!!  Your birthday is extra extra special this year! 🙂

Kinder Surprise!

Kinder Surprise was my absolute favourite chocolate when I was young. Yummy milk chocolate coupled with a silly toy. The toy was always too plasticky and to be honest, rather useless. But I still loved the whole gimmick of it all.
It was really sweet that someone remembered me mentioning about Kinder Surprise. He gave me a surprise with the updated version – Kinder Joy. 🙂 It’s always these little gestures like remembering what you said that is so heart-warming. Thank you Mr Mole!
That same day, we brought Domo to Bookcafe for brunch. Or rather, our brunch. No dog food sold there….there are so few pet cafes here in Singapore! Here’s Domo decked out in his Peanuts tee I got from Tokyo, looking happy! 😀
