Current Favourite Foundation

Current Favourite Foundation

One of the absolute favourite parts of my job is that I get to try all these amazing beauty products. I always get so excited to try them out when I get them! Of all the products that I test, some of them make it into my makeup routine, like the Max Factor Facefinity 3-In-1 Foundation. This is the latest product that I tested that got me really excited. It’s a primer, concealer and foundation all in one – such a perfect multi-tasker for my busy schedule.

TAIPEI WITH FANCL

I can’t believe that it’s been 3 months since I went to Taipei with Fancl. Is it just me, or do you find that time is absolutely flying by like crazy this year? I’ve been meaning to blog about this trip because we went to so many amazing places that I have to share with all of you. So, here goes!

Hello, 2015!

It’s 4 days into the new year and I’m finally sitting myself down to write my resolutions for 2015. As I’ve mentioned on my Instagram account, 2014 feels like such a blur and I can’t believe how fast the year passed. I did so many things last year and I’m so thankful for all the amazing opportunities and experiences. 2014 was a year of learning, growing, settling down and what-I-call, transitioning into ‘adulthood’. It was a year which I learned a lot more about myself. It was also a year of risk-taking and chasing my dream with Wardrobe Theory. It’s been quite a year and 2014 feels like a lead up to a huge year that I’m going to have this year.
I’ve got a new house coming, a wedding and a business to build in 2015. Major stuff. To be honest, I get scared sometimes thinking of these big things that will be happening, but I constantly remind myself not to be with one of my favourite quotes, ‘a head full of fears has no space for dreams; fate favours the fearless’. To help myself get there to fulfil my goals and dreams, I’ve set a couple of resolutions.
1. Be more discipline. This is a broad resolution that will help me achieve what I want to achieve this year. I think this practise should apply to all aspects in my life – to be more disciplined with checking off to-do lists and getting work done, be more disciplined with exercising, be more disciplined at motivating myself, and to be disciplined to not procrastinate. I read somewhere that one habit of successful people is to not procrastinate the small things, and to do them immediately to clear them out of the way. If it takes less than 2 minutes, then do it now. I’ve been trying to practise this habit since 2014 and I’ve been feeling more accomplished already.
2. Stay positive and be happy. This year, I want to learn to stay positive even in the most dire of situations and to enjoy and be happy with the small things. I’d like to think that I’m usually quite positive, but I have to admit that I do let things get to me and get me down sometimes. I’d like to change that this year and make the most of everyday.
3. Eating healthier and exercising. Now that I’m a bit older, I’m seeing and feeling how this can impact and affect my overall well-being. I’m not one to abstain completely from certain types of ‘bad food’. Knowing how much I like to eat junk food and sweets, it’ll be impossible for me to not have them completely. I’d probably go crazy with the cravings one day and overstuff my face with sweets if I do that. I believe in moderation and hope to do more of that this year and be more consistent with inculcating foods like fruits in my diet. Of course, I try…but I do hope to exercise at least twice a week consistently this year too. I do want a lean body in time for my wedding at the end of the year!
4. Spend more time with my family. I’m usually so busy that family sometimes takes a back seat in my life. I have to remind myself that whilst I’m trying to achieve things for myself, my parents and people around me are also not getting any younger. If I don’t treasure the times with them now, then when?
I end this post with another of my favourite quotes. What are some of your resolutions for 2015?

Adventures in Guangzhou

I’m tucked in bed at the Hilton, Tianhe with a cup of chamomile tea, Maxwell (one of my favourite singers) playing at the background, a snail mask on my face and writing this blog post right at this moment. Ahh…life is good.

Oh darn, I just remembered that I forgot to follow on with facial wash after my facial scrub in the shower!! I wonder if that’s ok? This skincare regime business can get so complicated sometimes. If you’re curious, I’m currently using Skin Inc’s Pure Prodew Cleanser, La Mer’s Refining Facial Scrub – I usually leave this on for about 5-10 minutes and then remove it in circular motions. It really gets rid of grime, and makes it easy to pop stubborn blackheads after. I major love this scrub.

I’m here in Guangzhou for a little pet project of mine that I’m super excited about but will keep it a ‘lil secret until I’m ready to share with everyone. This is not my first time in Guangzhou and there’s really not much to do or sightsee so I’m spending most of my time here in my room working on my project. It feels like I’m having a mini staycation with lots of me time.

I met with Stephanie today and she took me for hi-tea at the Four Seasons Hotel on the 70th floor. The view up there is amazing. Check out my first photo! We spent a good couple of hours taking in the view and chatting over bite-size savouries and sweets. We went to Taikoo Hui Mall after (the mall’s name is funny isn’t it? It makes a lot more sense in Mandarin) where most of the big brands are at. I noticed that a lot of coveted designer products were available at this mall. The Chanel Boy bag was available in many styles and colours and I spotted the furry monster and the Karl Lagerfeld keychain at Fendi. This mall also houses Bread Talk, Crystal Jade and Food Junction…very Singaporean. I first thought that it was a Singapore collaboration – apparently not. Stephanie took me to Mei Xin Restaurant opposite the mall after some shopping ( I may have remembered the name wrongly) where we were joined by her husband. I had the best roast goose there! I’m salivating just thinking about it.

Oops! It’s 2am, so I’d better stop thinking about food and head to bed. Off to wash off this snail mask off my face. Goodnight!
