Birthday At Clifford Pier.

I love Clifford Pier and The Fullerton Bay Hotel. I admit that the food (except the lobster roll) and service is rather…blah…but the ambience kinda makes up for it. I had a wonderful celebration with my family there. These days, family outings revolve around the ‘lil boo, Elliott and we have our dinners really early at 6pm so that he gets home by 8+ for bed. No one is complaining. I/We love this ‘lil boy to bits and I think in my eyes, he’ll do no wrong – even when he’s constantly trying to strangle me by pulling on my necklace. I almost thought my Chanel necklace was going to break.
It was really nice when the waiters brought out a birthday cake for me and when the pianist broke into a birthday song. Everyone in the restaurant sang along! Do note that if you’re going to do a birthday celebration at this restaurant, they do not allow you to consume cakes from outside. Neither will they refrigerate the cake for you. They make it up by providing you with one. 🙂

Birthday Celebrations Part I.

Most awkward couple shot ever. Haha.
I turned 33 exactly a week ago on 20th January. I had a few pre, actual and post birthday celebrations (I’m actually still celebrating) and my heart is so full and bursting from all the love from my loved ones. The celebrations kicked off with dinner with the ‘Hatred Family’ at Sabio by the Sea at Sentosa. The ‘Hatred Family’ is initially a bunch of Jon’s super fun-loving friends; adults that basically can’t grow up. I think you can get that they’re a crazy bunch (especially the boys) from the pictures above. I got initiated into the group when Jon and I got together and I’ve grown to love them and enjoy their company like my own friends. I know they’ll be there for me should anything happen and they’re all just a phone call or watsapp text away.
I’ve been meaning to try Sabio since Jessica (@tippytapp) raved about their food to me. Indeed, every tapas dish that we ordered was delicious. Even a few of the boys who usually only like Asian cuisine were raving over the Spanish dishes. I didn’t take any pictures cos’ every dish that came was wiped out in a couple of minutes and I didn’t want to go all ‘blogger’ on them and stop them from eating before I took pictures of the food. I can’t wait to go back for more!
Here’s what I wore to dinner.
Top & Skirt: Wardrobe Theory – both pieces I absolutely love! I love how the skirt flatters and gives you shape.
Bag: Chanel Boy (Medium)
Shoes: Pedder Red

Beautiful Friendships

I can’t remember how this collaboration between me and my multi-talented friend, Xuann came about. I think this idea was conceived one hot afternoon when she was over at my place as we were feasting over some delicious ‘yong tau foo’. As we sipped our watermelon juices and chatted idly about hopes, dreams and what’s to come for 2015, something struck a chord and we decided there and then that we will work on a fun little project together in 2015. She, being a professional hair and makeup artist will doll me up. And being the multi-talent that she is, she’ll also go behind the lens and shoot me. Yesterday was our first collaboration and these are some of the images that we got. I had so much fun doing these pictures and it was such an easy partnership. It feels like it all fell into place and we connected with each other through the camera. I’m so excited and can’t wait for collaboration #2,3,4!
If you’re looking for a hair and make-up artist for your wedding, to doll you up for a shoot or event, please check out her FB page www.facebook.com/xunnyart and her new IG account @xunnyart.
Here’s to beautiful friendships and even more beautiful collaborations!

Hello, 2015!

It’s 4 days into the new year and I’m finally sitting myself down to write my resolutions for 2015. As I’ve mentioned on my Instagram account, 2014 feels like such a blur and I can’t believe how fast the year passed. I did so many things last year and I’m so thankful for all the amazing opportunities and experiences. 2014 was a year of learning, growing, settling down and what-I-call, transitioning into ‘adulthood’. It was a year which I learned a lot more about myself. It was also a year of risk-taking and chasing my dream with Wardrobe Theory. It’s been quite a year and 2014 feels like a lead up to a huge year that I’m going to have this year.
I’ve got a new house coming, a wedding and a business to build in 2015. Major stuff. To be honest, I get scared sometimes thinking of these big things that will be happening, but I constantly remind myself not to be with one of my favourite quotes, ‘a head full of fears has no space for dreams; fate favours the fearless’. To help myself get there to fulfil my goals and dreams, I’ve set a couple of resolutions.
1. Be more discipline. This is a broad resolution that will help me achieve what I want to achieve this year. I think this practise should apply to all aspects in my life – to be more disciplined with checking off to-do lists and getting work done, be more disciplined with exercising, be more disciplined at motivating myself, and to be disciplined to not procrastinate. I read somewhere that one habit of successful people is to not procrastinate the small things, and to do them immediately to clear them out of the way. If it takes less than 2 minutes, then do it now. I’ve been trying to practise this habit since 2014 and I’ve been feeling more accomplished already.
2. Stay positive and be happy. This year, I want to learn to stay positive even in the most dire of situations and to enjoy and be happy with the small things. I’d like to think that I’m usually quite positive, but I have to admit that I do let things get to me and get me down sometimes. I’d like to change that this year and make the most of everyday.
3. Eating healthier and exercising. Now that I’m a bit older, I’m seeing and feeling how this can impact and affect my overall well-being. I’m not one to abstain completely from certain types of ‘bad food’. Knowing how much I like to eat junk food and sweets, it’ll be impossible for me to not have them completely. I’d probably go crazy with the cravings one day and overstuff my face with sweets if I do that. I believe in moderation and hope to do more of that this year and be more consistent with inculcating foods like fruits in my diet. Of course, I try…but I do hope to exercise at least twice a week consistently this year too. I do want a lean body in time for my wedding at the end of the year!
4. Spend more time with my family. I’m usually so busy that family sometimes takes a back seat in my life. I have to remind myself that whilst I’m trying to achieve things for myself, my parents and people around me are also not getting any younger. If I don’t treasure the times with them now, then when?
I end this post with another of my favourite quotes. What are some of your resolutions for 2015?

Happy Holidays!

Here’s wishing you all happy holidays! I thoroughly enjoyed Christmas this year – the massive present and party planning leading up to the festivities, precious time spent with family and friends, the look of glee (especially amongst the ‘lil ones) when everybody opened their presents, and all that delicious food and over eating. I’ve been nursing a flu and a bad throat since Christmas eve, but ain’t no germs gonna get me down during Christmas!
The combination of the Christmas spirit and the year coming to a close always leaves me in a reflective mood and I am reminded of what’s important; to have a grateful heart and be thankful for all the wonderful people who surround me.
I hope all of you had a wonderful and meaningful Christmas. It’s the season of faith, hope and love, so spread love to those who may need it! I’ll be spending the next couple of days mulling over my New Year’s resolutions and setting goals in pursuit of my dreams. More on that to share soon.
On a side note, I think some of you are aware of the current controversy happening right now in the blogosphere. As someone who’s had the experience of working with several artiste management companies over the last decade, I can vouch with all honesty that Gushcloud has been fair, honest, and transparent in our relationship. They conduct their business professionally and sincerely. My experience with them has been nothing but great. Gushcloud believes in open communication and transparency. All these positive traits and more,  is what makes me a proud member of the Gushcloud community.
My heart goes out to the entire team who had to spend this Christmas season managing this ill timed inconvenience. Christmas is the time for love, joy and giving…  kudos to the team for handling all the negativity that’s been hurled at them.
The Gushcloud team is one of the most hardworking groups of people that I’ve come to work with. The team has always been focused on bettering themselves and fostering an online community based on positivity.  It might be a part of human nature to think the worst of others, in fact, it most probably is easier to think the worst of others, instead of seeing the good that people do. I really do hope that public opinion will not be so swayed so easily by a single, biased source. I find it heartbreaking that such unprovoked hostility is supported by such blind hatred. The blind hatred of people who choose to believe manipulated data, unfounded evidence and unkind words.
My personal testimony might not mean very much to you, but I believe that the truth will unfold with time. I’d just like to leave you with this quote that I’ve heard some years back;
“It is easier to destroy than to create, it is easier to sow hate than to foster love. It is easier to judge than it is to seek the truth.”

One of my favourite pictures taken with the Gushcloud family in Boracay last year.
