Where did ’09 go?

I ask myself if 2009 was a good year and I can’t decide.
It was a rather good year with regards to work, with myself really satisfied with a number of projects that I took on. I am particularly happy with Pink Flare, my online store that was born at the end of ’09. It’s a project still-in-progress, and a “baby” that I’m really excited about and have new plans for this new year. I took my (hopefully) yearly happy trips to Tokyo, Seoul and other places, am sometimes amazed that Domo is still alive – happy and healthy ( I was worried I wouldn’t be able to be a loving, responsible dog owner at the start!), and I forged and built stronger relationships with the people whom I love.
Affairs of the heart however, was completely tumultuous and I never felt my heart suffered so. Feelings of pain were so intense at times, and so choking that I didn’t know quite what to do. But the bottom line is, lesson learnt, and I survived through it all. And I’m sitting here, happier now and definitely stronger and appreciating the people who stood by me even more.
So, I guess that didn’t sound all too bad did it? Anyhow, c’est la vie~ what’s past should remain so, and I have these little resolutions that I’ve made up in my head and am excited to follow through this new year. Tick tock, the clock doesn’t stop running even if you do. So chin up! Carpe Diem! Best of luck for 2010 everyone!! xxx

Someday We’ll Find It – The lover, the dreamers and Me

RAINBOW CONNECTION

Kermit the Frog

Why are there so many
Songs about rainbows
And what’s on the other side
Rainbow’s are visions
They’re only illusions
And rainbows have nothing to hide
So we’ve been told and some chose to
Believe it
But I know they’re wrong wait and see

Someday we’ll find it
The Rainbow Connection
The lovers, the dreamers and me

Who said that every wish
Would be heard and answered
When wished on the morning star
Somebody thought of that
And someone believed it
And look what it’s done so far
What’s so amazing
That keeps us star gazing
What so we think we might see

Someday we’ll find it
That Rainbow Connection
The lovers the dreamers and me

Have you been half asleep
And have you heard voices
I’ve heard them calling my name
Are these the sweet sounds that called
The young sailors
I think they’re one and the same
I’ve heard it too many times to ignore it
There’s something that I’m supposed to be

Someday we’ll find it
The Rainbow Connection

The lovers, the dreamers and me

Christmas Magic at John’s

John’s yearly Christmas parties never fail to inject a huge dose of the Christmas spirit in everyone. Their place will be dressed to the nines with Christmas decorations, there’ll be food aplenty (with lots of yummy deserts…mmm), christmas carols playing, lots of laughter from people, and a caroling session by the piano to top it off.
This year’s party is purple/pink themed. My favourite colours! ๐Ÿ˜€
And that’s Nicholas, Mark, Hong, Joyce and Alvin. ๐Ÿ™‚ My sweet posse!
What a coincidence – Jonathan Leong from Singapore Idol.
Here’s John dashing in purple, and he’s got this gorgeous brooch on!
Twin boys – Alvin and Hong.
Purply Nic and Pinky Mark.
We are Alvin’s princesses.
And sometimes Mark’s- the princesses of Emerald Hill that’s what he says. Hahaha.
Angels
Devils
And we ended the night with the usual carolling session.
Sweet. ๐Ÿ™‚

Singapore Idol ’09

I wasn’t too psyched when my sister first called to ask me to go watch the Singapore Idol finals at the Indoor Stadium. But, I thought it’ll be a great opportunity for some “sister bonding” time and agreed to go with her.
(Sylvia Ratonel was formerly from Temasek Poly where my sister now lectures. Hence the tickets.)
I’ve heard Sylvia sing a couple of times on TV and caught a couple of the finals trailer featuring her. I’ve even met and spoken to her in Mediacorp’s make-up unit. I think she’s really pretty and has Fantastic vocals. I love the huskiness of her voice! Obviously, we were all rooting for her in the stadium…she sounded great live and her strong vocals blew us away. We were really really disappointed with the results… ๐Ÿ˜ฆ
My sis and I walked to Brewerkz before the show for dinner.

Me wearing the “Sunday Best” dress from Pink Flare!

These two little kiddos – Megan and Gabriel were strong supporters of Sylvia. Megan even drew a little banner in support. So cute!!!…and she cried when the results were announced. ๐Ÿ˜ฆ

That’s Sezairi’s supporters in green on the left, and Sylvia’s supporters in pink on the right. We’re still hoping she’ll be picked up by a label for an album. This girl needs to be singing!
