HELLO #Halston Fling & #Garden of Eden

Finally!!! New pieces that I created for the Pink Flare label are finally out! Yay!! I had really wanted to release new designs quick after the #Leila Rose jumpsuit, but the entire production process for these new dresses took a really really long time.
It was really exciting once again to be able to design, pick fabric and have dresses that I dreamed up of, produced. Now I know that it’s not as easy as simply having a design in my head. The challenging process is finding a suitable fabric and colour for the piece. Most times, fabrics and colours that I requested for were not available and had to be located and searched for in another country!
Anyway, enough of all that. Here’s presenting #Halston Fling and #Garden of Eden!!!

Singapore’s Inaugural Men’s Fashion Week

I was invited to a couple of shows for the very first Men’s Fashion week to be held in Singapore. Apart from Paris and Milan, we are the 3rd country to hold this fashion event. That’s kinda cool isn’t it. I hear that 6 months down the road, we are going to have our very own Women’s Fashion Week! Yay!

First ups, a show by local designers. The label that I was most interested in was of course, ATZU. Co-founded by my friends Noah, Desmond and Hanping, they were specially handpicked to shine alongside regional and international brands. Very exciting!

They had local artists walk for them such as Bryan Gamboa from the band West Boulevard.

Final walk! Noah totally shone on-stage.

I love ATZU’s bold lines and structured silhouettes.
After the show.

Was supposed to attend the ‘Dress Camp’ show with Jasmine, but we arrived too late and missed it! En-routed for dinner at Imperial Treasure instead.

This maxi dress is making an appearance on Pink Flare soon. I’m so excited to launch!

An auction was held in closing to raise funds for Japan.

This snake print dress that I wore too is making an appearance on Pink Flare soon. πŸ˜€

Australian based brand ‘Song of the Mute’ was the closing show of MFW this year. They were supposed to show in Paris’s MFW, but their entire show collection was lost in transit. What a bummer!!!!

Nocturnal Hunters

The boy and I went on a late night hunt for food last night. We drove to Beach Road for the best ‘scissors curry rice’ in Singapore (at least that’s what I think) and we were not disappointed. So good!!

There’s always a queue. The guy at the stall dishing out the various dishes uses a pair of scissors to cut up the food and I thought it funny that he couldn’t stop doing the cutting motion with the scissors even when he wasn’t cutting up anything. He seemed to be working like clockwork and was very robotic.

We went to King Albert Park’s Cold Storage (open 24 hrs) to get raw ingredients after for next day’s lunch. Here’s the boy intently picking out chicken.

And me picking vegetables… So I think I kinda look like I’m not wearing any pants here. Haha. My outfit for the day was a pair of black shorts and a top from Pink Flare.

You wouldn’t believe that after picking out a basket-full of things, we went to the cashier only to find one station open with a super long snaking queue. We gave up. Couldn’t wait because we had to rush home to walk the dog. So we put the things back and left. What a waste of time! So a reminder, unless you’ve got all the time in the world for grocery shopping, don’t go to Cold Storage KAP after normal opening hours!

Before I end, here’s a shot of the curry rice goodness. Are you salivating yet? πŸ˜€
Ooh and yes, the pair of black/leopard print wedges I ordered from ASOS arrived today! I love them and can’t wait to wear them out. I hope they don’t bite my feet!… Speaking of feet biting, I totally don’t get the myth of biting your shoe so it won’t bite you back. Totally doesn’t make sense, right?

Erm, and here are some random instagram shots I took whilst waiting for the boy today. πŸ™‚

Pink Flare: New pieces that went instore last week

For this collection of new pieces, I collaborated with a new photographer in a new studio. Needless to say, I was very excited before the shoot and couldn’t wait to see what new ‘magic’ would result. I’m really really happy with the final pictures and I think the shots really managed to show the clothes very well. Had amazing chemistry with the photographer and I’m really excited to work with him on the next collection. There’s still a couple of pieces left for some designs, so do go on to www.pink-flare.com to check them out, if you haven’t already!
Moving on, I’m really excited about what’s in-store for Pink Flare in the upcoming months. Currently, I’m working with a designer for a complete website/design overhaul and revamp. We’ll be meeting to discuss about designs tomorrow. I can’t sleep just thinking about it already. Plus, I’ll be also getting samples tomorrow for new designs that I’m working on for Pink Flare’s in-house label. Tomorrow’s going to be a big day. πŸ˜€
I’m also working on collaborating with a dear friend who has a fabulous men’s line to possibly arrange something so that we can meet our customers. It’ll be really lovely if this falls through and I get to meet with people that have been so supportive of Pink Flare. *fingers crossed* I hope this event materialises…Till then! xoxo
