OUR WEDDING VIDEO

Today marks exactly 2 months since Jon and I have been married. How time flies!

A lot of people have asked me how’s married life and I have the most mundane answer to that. It feels almost the same as when we were dating! I think because we know each other so well and we’ve been living together for a while – I totally recommend couples to live together before getting married – there aren’t any unexpected surprises, yet.
There are subtle changes however, like I’ve noticed that Jon has become more tolerant since getting married and is quicker to let things go these days. When asked, he says that he feels like there’s no point getting worked up over small matters since we’re going to be together forever anyway. Haha, I’ve got no complaints to that! For myself, I feel a slight self-inflicted pressure to want to be more of a ‘wife’ and take care of my husband since I’ve become Mrs Leong. I try and make sure that he’s well-fed, has clothes to wear, that his workwear is ironed, etc.
I guess we’re both slowly easing into our new roles as husband and wife and learning to function more as a unit instead of individuals. Happy 2 months to us and here’s to many more happy years ahead!

Wedding Prep [Part I]

Now that the wedding is over, I finally have some time to breathe! My tip for all the soon-to-be-brides: start your prep work early!

I already think that I started preparing pretty early, but still found myself swarmed during the final weeks leading up to the wedding. It definitely didn’t help that I was still super busy with work (boo!). Being a first-time bride (obviously!), I totally forgot and left out some of the finer details like, getting a ring pillow, ‘ang pao’ box and things like that. It’s a good thing I had an amazing bunch of bridesmaids. I had 13 in total and thank gawd for them! They reminded me of these nitty-gritty details along the way and even got me a ring pillow at the last minute. It was hand embroidered and so pretty (see picture below!). J
Amidst my crazy work schedule, wedding prep AND honeymoon prep (I wonder why I do this to myself sometimes, haha), I didn’t have much time to think about getting ME ready for the big day. I didn’t do very much for myself apart from a very last-minute facial and hens nail party (more on that later). So, I was really thankful when GNC sent me an entire set of their LAC Taut products before the wedding day. I’ve tried the Collagen Drink and Mask before and had achieved great results previously (past review here), so I was confident that I was going to experience the same or even better results with the addition of the Taut White Pills.

The LAC Taut Collagen Drink plus placenta contains a high dosage of high quality red snapper fish source plus a concentration of active placenta extract. We all know that collagen helps to plump up the skin and reduce fine lines and wrinkles, while placenta rejuvenates ageing cells and damaged tissues. You know, I actually looked forward to drinking a bottle every night before bed. I felt that I was taking care of my skin from within. For someone who’s not into fussy regimes, it was so quick and easy to drink a bottle before bed. The best part? I wake up with bright skin every morning (even on days when I slept really late) and my skin looks more hydrated overall, especially on the dry areas such as the sides of my cheeks and around my lips.

The fairness of my skin could not have been achieved without the help of these Taut White Pills. I took 2 pills daily alongside with my collagen drink. These pills contain ingredients for intensive skin firming and whitening results. Again, I looked forward to taking them everyday!

Already one of my all-time favourite masks, this Collagen Infusion Mask literally lifts and gives your face a more V-shape contour. I put it on before I sleep and remove it (or sometimes it falls off when I fall asleep) without putting on any follow-on skincare products. I love how fuss-free it is!

This is me, before bedtime with the mask on. The mask sheet is really thick and it feels really good when I place it on my face. It doesn’t dry up quickly like some of the other thinner sheet masks in the market.

This picture was taken on my wedding day. It shows how much LAC Taut has brightened my complexion and made this day an even more beautiful one. I started on my LAC Taut journey 2 weeks before the wedding (so glad I did!) and I’m really happy with how my skin looks now. Even without makeup, my skin looks dewy, taut, luminous and bright (no dullness!). I’d recommend all soon-to-be-brides to get on your LAC Taut journey asap. Imagine the results I could have gotten if I started on it even earlier. Go get yours from any GNC outlets!

Counting down…it’s less than 6 months to the wedding!

Oh gosh, where did all the time go. The wedding is less than 6 months away! I attended Flutters Eyelash’s 1st Anniversary party last Saturday and everyone kinda remarked that I was surprisingly cool (or too chill) about the upcoming wedding. Honestly, I’ve been so busy with Wardrobe Theory, I haven’t had much time or energy to think about the wedding. I’m leaving it all to the safe hands of my wedding planner, Clarissa from Lovorth Weddings! (I hope she’s reading this!)
Chill and all, I would still like to look really nice on my wedding day. Jon doesn’t understand why girls put in soooo much effort to look good for just one day. Someone explain to him, please! Anyhow, I kinda ignored him when he said that. I’ve got a couple of concerns for my face, so I made an appointment and went to see Dr Karen Soh from Prive Aesthetics yesterday. During our consultation, she told me that everybody will be taking pictures on the wedding day and no one (except the professional photographer) will be doing any photoshop…”so let’s get you ready and looking beautiful from all angles!”
We discussed a couple of options for me and we decided to first and foremost, start me on their Exilis Elite Treatment. The main concerns that I have for my face are:
– Drooping cheeks
– Saggy jowls
– Drooping eyelids
– Double chin
These concerns only came about in the past year or so (damn you, aging!!) and it’s showing a lot more on my right face compared to my left. I’m assuming its normal that both sides of the face age at a different rate? On normal days, I make it up by putting my left face forward in most pictures. I’ve been considering treatments such as Thermage for a while, but am so scared of the pain! So, when Dr Karen shared with me about the Exilis Elite Treatment, I was really excited. I’m supposed to achieve similar results to Thermage, without the pain and downtime.
The Exilis Treatment is supposed to contour your face, tighten your skin and improve skin laxity, rejuvenate your face by stimulating collagen production, plump your skin and reduce wrinkles and improve the appearance of dark circles.
I went for my first treatment today (I was really excited, haha) and I can’t wait to share with all of you the subtle changes that I’ve noticed already. Here’s a before/after. I took the pictures at the same spot and angle for a fair comparison.
Before
I’ve highlighted my concerns with the text. It’s obvious that my right face is sagging more than my left. 😦 I’ve got my brows drawn, eyeliner on and under-eye concealer in this picture.

After
The results I’m seeing immediately after 1 session of Exilis Treatment: saggy cheek and jowl on my right face looks slightly improved (yay!!). Overall, I’ve noticed that my skin looks tighter, fine lines especially those around my eyes have lessened, dark circles have lightened (my dark circles in the ‘After’ picture looks lighter than the ‘Before’ when I’ve got concealer on in the before picture). My eyes are also looking brighter – possibly from the lifted eyelids and tighter skin.
I’m supposed to see even more results after 2-3 days and optimal results after 6 sessions. All in time for my wedding…I can’t wait! 😀

I forgot to add!! I experienced no pain at all during the treatment. All I felt was heat – like someone was giving me a hotstone massage on my face.

The search for ‘the one’.

The part of the wedding planning that gets me most excited is searching for the perfect dress. I’ve tried on gowns at 3 bridal studios so far. Call me dramatic, but I’m thinking that when you’ve found the perfect one, a gasp will form under your breath, and you’ll know in your heart that this is ‘the one’.
These are the gowns that I’ve tried on so far. The first one is from Prelude Bridal, 2nd – 5th from Jessica Cindy, and the last 4 is from Tiara Bridal. I started out the search with a pretty clear idea of what I wanted in mind – mermaid or trumpet cut with little or no lace. Lace details are a little too feminine for me.
I didn’t want to limit myself with these options in my head right from the start and kept my options open during these fitting sessions. I tried on as many different cuts and detail options possible. After trying on so many, I’ve not swayed much, or rather, at all from these criteria. I decided that I still like the mermaid or trumpet cut, and lace is still not for me. But, I’ve added on other must-haves to the list: lots of tulle and I would like a dreamy, off-shoulder tulle detail added to the gown.
Which gown do you like me best in? Please leave me a comment!
