Busy Bee

Remember: Never to go for a run again before an overnight shoot.
I’m lying in bed still recovering from an overnight shoot for REM that started yesterday and ended 9+ in the morning today. I’m so tired!! I think I wouldn’t be feeling this bad if I hadn’t decided to go for a run before the shoot. >_<

It was supposed to be the last shoot day for the finale Episode 13. But, the last scheduled scene was canned today and postponed because no one on set could function anymore at 9+. Haha. I think we looked like a whole bunch of walking zombies amidst the early risers at Pasir Ris Park. Yes, we were filming at Pasir Ris Park, and even had to move into the forested areas last night. It was bugs, creepy crawlies, mosquitoes and ants galore. I think they had a good feast on us last night. I’m just so glad we are done with Pasir Ris Park! Please, No more parks for me, thank you!!
It’s been a really busy few weeks for me with shoots, school projects, my sister’s wedding (yes! my darling sister got married!!) and a weekend escapade in the city with the girls (namely Angelia, Cecilia and Stephaine). :))) Without further ado, pictures!!!
Shots from REM:-

Ouch?
I’m very tired again. Going to rest some now. Will continue with my sister’s wedding and escapade post soon! 🙂
-xxx-
P.S // The mocca.com advertisement I did a couple of weeks ago has been playing on TV. Have you guys seen it yet? 😀 I’m hoping to be able to record it somehow!

Short Film – Dinner

I was on shoot for a short film entitled, “Dinner” recently. My character was a blast from the past, which meant that it involved me wearing retro girly clothes and even a nurse uniform.
Though short, I enjoyed this shoot a lot. There weren’t too many stressed faces around me, which allowed me to give a really ‘free’ performance, which was great. And, I had a lot of fun playing the girlish damsel in love. I think that secretly, my dream is to have a part in a completely romantic plot – if I can choose my prince of course. 😉

MCYS Family Shoot

I shot a MCYS commercial last week. The theme centered around ‘Family’, and here’s my Dad, Mum and little brother. We are all surrounding Grandma’s hospital bed (not in shot). Though my stint in the commercial was brief, it was an eye-opener working on set with director, David Tsui. I’ve heard so much of his good works.

Here’s the man, – David Tsui
The production house handling this commercial was the same one I worked with a couple of years back for a Johnson’s Acuvue contact lens commercial. It was very interesting to meet many of the same people again and see how much they have changed. I bet they’re thinking the same thing about me!

My Yesterday

Does green tea contain caffeine? I was always under the impression that green tea is free of it. I’ve learnt the hard way. I drank a whole pot last night, and spent the rest of the night being very much awake, trying to force myself to sleep. Very torturing! I’m sure many of you have experienced such nights.

I really tried hard to sleep because I will be on shoot for REM tonight – overnight from 10pm to 7am! Even taking melatonin pills didn’t help. I was way too wired. I’m definitely feeling knackered now, but still not sleepy…I expect myself to be thrashed at shoot tonight. Well, least I know that green tea will help me keep awake now…Very awake. :S

Since I was So awake last night, I decided to re-design my blog banner. Voila! A new birth! I’m still trying to decide if I like it enough, but it shall stay for now…till the next improvement, or not. 🙂

Back to the green tea story, I was drinking so much of it because I made onigiri yesterday. Green tea goes well with Japanese food obviously, so…I was downing it with (too much) gusto. It was my first try at making onigiri. I really wanted mine to turn out pretty and authentic looking like those below. But, I realised how difficult it was without a proper onigiri mould. 😦 It was really difficult to squeeze the rice and ingredients into shape with bare hands. The rice would either stick to my hands (despite having already soaked my hands in salt water), or the ingredients will be falling all over the place. In the end, I ended having to use a round mould (the only one I could find). You would probably have guessed that yes, my onigiris were not very pretty. I tried making up for the lack of looks with taste though, and stuffed them with tuna mayonaise, teriyaki beef and unagi. I wished I remembered to take some pictures of my first attempt!

In all, I still think that the taste didn’t quite suffice the lack of looks. But, I’ve still got a whole bag of Japanese rice to try. Next time will surely be better, hopefully! 🙂

P.S Thanks Benji, Domo is definitely better! His ears are ok now, and he is definitely less itchy. 😀 Yay!
