My grandparents moved in with my family recently. I’m glad, because this means I get to see them everyday. They are quite the usual traditional chinese grandparents, where words are seldom spoken, and emotions seldom showed. Instead, they show their love and concern by little gestures.
My grandmother buys my granddad a banana fritter every week because he loves it. One week, she bought two and offered me one. I ate it because I haven’t had one in the longest time and I was rather hungry then (I really think it’s too fried and unhealthy). But thinking that it’s one of my favourites, she has placed it top priority on her ‘to buy’ list.
Now, I get a banana fritter every week alongside my granddad’s.
…and surprisingly, every piece has gotten sweeter than the last. 🙂
Family love is beautiful. =)
