I was taking a picture the other day…and I noticed something weird whilst uploading the picture on my laptop. Eeeekkkssss! What was that ghostly figure lurking in the background?!?! *shivers down my spine*…am I seeing things? Is it what I think it is? ahhhhhhh!!!!!!
A Belated Post
HAPPY FATHER’S DAY!

Father’s Day celebration was a slightly bigger affair for the usual 4 of us this year. This time round, we had 3 fathers on the table – Kong Kong (my dear grandpa), Uncle Eddie (my third uncle), and my dearest daddy!

I thought they all looked particularly cute in this picture. *teehee*
Thanks daddy for being the wonderful dad you are, and we hope you enjoy your GPS system! No more getting lost on the roads! π
Japan I
Opps, I see cobwebs forming in here already. Sorry I left without a word! But I’m back now! – back from one of my favourite countries to visit … JAPAN!!
I spent 10 days with my mum traveling around Tokyo, Osaka and Kyoto. Tokyo still gets my highest rating, and it was there that we spent the most time. π We did sooooo much walking around (until our feet ached and blistered) and we had to get foot massages and order room shiatsu massages. Cab rides are really expensive in Japan. We only always hopped on from the subway station near our hotel to take us back cos’ we really couldn’t walk anymore… And that 5-10 minutes cab ride usually cost us around $10.
Shopping was fabulous as usual and I bought a lot of cute, pink, blingy things. π Summer fashion was just starting too, so that was great, and I also stocked up on my make-up, creams, eyelashes etc etc. There’s just so much to see and buy in Japan! I’m putting myself on a 6 months shopping ban now after that haul. Haha.

Mum and I waiting to get on the plane. We flew Japan Airlines! I was quite excited to be on a JAL plane again. Hehe. *For those who don’t know, I used to be a cabin attendant on Japan Airlines. π They put us on the upper deck and my ex-colleague Kailing was working in that compartment. What a coincidence! She really took care of us on that overnight flight. Thanks girl!

We got to Tokyo really bright and early, checked into the hotel, took a nap and got ready to hit the streets.

Our first meal – Soba. The fish-cake like tempura was really yummy.

Stopping for tea. Japan has really good Strawberry Shortcakes and Macha (Green Tea) Ice Cream.

We were strolling around Shinjuku (where our hotel was located, and where many malls like Takashimaya, Isetan, IOIO etc are) and we chanced upon Krispy Kremes!! My favourite doughnut shop! The line was really long, but we got in anyway. They were handing out doughnuts for those waiting in line to keep up the patience. Mmmm..!!

The doughnut machine churning out delicious rings.

The next day, we headed to vibrant, colourful Harajuku. My favourite place in Tokyo. Lots of interesting little shops (like the aeroplane one above) and many interesting people on the streets to see.

I brought my mum to my favourite ramen shop. I still think it serves the best ramen ever. Ichiban!

My mum tucking in. She finished the whole bowl! A real rarity…

And then we walked around somemore….opps, I think my mum’s looking a bit tired from all that walking around!

And so we stopped for more food. Dessert again! Err…it does seem like we are eating quite a bit aren’t we!
More food: Dinner for the day. π

We had it at an Unagi speciality shop. I’m satisfied. :)))

We got up early the next morning and headed to Disney Sea! After a rather confusing train ride, we are finally waiting for the Disney tram to take us there. Whee~!

It was Spring season, so there were many colourful flower displays all around. Pretty!

Disney Sea has a lot of rides around the water. This was taken from the boat ferrying us to another ‘land’.

Mini Venetian. You can hop on a gondola and go around the ‘lake’.

The huge signature ship in Disney Sea….
where we caught a musical, “Over the Waves.”
Ice-cream break!

Mum with her Mickey apple popsicle.

My sea-salt ice cream. (a slightly saltier version of vanilla)

It’s really pretty inside Mermaid world, but I couldn’t get any pictures cos’ it’s really dark. But here’s what we had in the Mermaid theme restaurant. Shell shaped scallop croquet sandwiches. I always have this when I’m here cos’ it’s so yummy. π

Me, mum and Princess Jasmine at Aladdin Land. It’s amazing how much effort is put to each land to recreate everything from the cartoons.

An ‘arabic band’ performing on the streets.

I tried a go at this game stall where you had to roll a ball into one of the brackets. The prize was Aladdin Lilo or Stitch (in the photo), but I didn’t get any balls in… π¦ so all I got was a badge. π¦

Taken inside Sinbad’s Adventure boat ride.

Introducing Duffy the Disney Bear ! I couldn’t resist…I had to take him home. π

My feet hurt from all that walking, so I bought a pair of Mickey flip-flops to change into.
Mid-day, there was a Spring Carnival parade!

One of my favourite characters – Marie!

Streets of ‘Old New York’ in ‘Old American Land’.

Mum infront of the haunted manor.

Disney was celebrating their 25th Anniversary.

We left at nightfall, and took a long bus ride out from fairy-tale Disney to buzzling Shinjuku.

I’ll continue with more of Japan soon. Here’s Domo wishing you all goodnight! *xoxo*

Hong Kong II

Next stop —- Disneyland!!! π

Their signature Disney train. Whee~ I’m excited already!

The entire train has been ‘disney-ed’ out. Even the handle-bars are Mickey Mouse shaped.

Extra-large Mickey Fantasia Hat.

My all-time favourite cartoon character – Ariel. I remember watching ‘Little Mermaid’ sooooo many times when I was young that I could sing along to all the songs and I even knew their dialogue!

We had to take a photo with another of Disneyland’s signatures.

Goofing around in their store. :p

Elaine looks like a ‘ge ge’ princess from ‘huan zhu ge ge’!

Trying to be astronauts in ‘Tomorrow Land’.

A Disney musical! You know how Disney cartoons always break into dramatic song-and-dance during their cartoons? This was exactly like one of those. It’s kinda weird that all the characters there spoke Cantonese, but it was still good nonetheless.

Pretty “Small World” It’s one of the newest attractions at Hong Kong’s Disneyland.

I know I’m a little too old for this…but who can resist the spinning tea cups! I was spun back to childhood!

It was really really hot, so I bought a mickey fan to cool myself down….only to find it rather useless. It didn’t produce much wind! It was just …..cute…haiz!
We had to do the Disney touristy thing and take pictures with all the characters! π

The fairy-tale like carousel…where’s my prince and his white horse!?
Magical colourful Disney parade…check out the floats!
Hong Kong Disneyland is probably the smallest of all the disneylands, but it still got me really excited to be there. Elaine, my cousin calls me the ε€’εΉ»ε ¬δΈ» – where everything in my world needs to be pretty, glittery, pink and fluffy. Haha.

And all good things have to come to an end. π¦ ….here we are waiting for our transport at the lobby (posing with one of the many sculptures scattered all over the hotel).
And miniD eats again! A dumpling at “Heng Heong” restaurant at the airport. The old wive’s cake that they sell are really delicious!
