A Review of EVERSOFT’S New Makeup Removers (They’re 100% Organic!)

All of you probably already know how important a good cleansing regime is and how crucial it is to remove your makeup thoroughly and properly everyday before going to bed. I think that you can be lazy with your skincare on some days, but you should never be lazy with the cleansing.

I recently went away for a couple of days and skipped the makeup remover step and only washed my face with a cleanser to remove my makeup (thinking that it was light anyway) so that I didn’t need to lug an extra skincare product abroad. Big mistake – my pores started clogging and my skin started breaking out after day 3. My skin only started clearing and getting back on track after I got back and re-introduced a makeup remover into my regime.
Lesson learnt. I’ll never skip the makeup remover step again.
The good people from EVERSOFT recently sent me their new range of makeup removers – the 100% Organic Cucumber Cleansing Jelly and 100% Organic Olive Cleansing Oil. I have to admit that they got me at ‘ORGANIC’. I couldn’t wait to put the two makeup removers to the test.

EVERSOFT 100% Organic Cucumber Cleansing Jelly (150ml)

Recommended for use to remove light makeup, I tested this with my normal everyday look – waterproof eyeliner, undereye concealer, pencil drawn eyebrows and loose powder.
I removed my eye makeup on one side of my face (left face / right hand side of picture) to test. While I used a cotton pad, you can apply it directly to your face and gently massage before rinsing off.
The cleansing jelly did a very good and thorough job of removing my eye makeup, especially the waterproof eyeliner. The makeup glided off smoothly and I didn’t need to tug at my eye to remove the liner. My skin felt comfortable and refreshed after using it – possibly from the organic cucumber extract. I really like that it’s water based and not oily, and that it smells so good. (Don’t get me wrong; I think cleansing oils are great for removing heavier makeup.) The label on the bottle reads that this cleansing jelly also cools and soothes the skin.

EVERSOFT 100% Organic Olive Cleansing Oil (100ml)

I put the 100% Organic Pure Olive Cleansing Oil to the test one evening when I had heavier makeup on. I have on my face: BB cushion, under eye concealer, blusher, contouring highlighter and bronzer, eye shadow, waterproof eye liner, drawn eyebrows and red lipstick.
I used a cotton pad again but alternatively, apply and gently massage onto your face to dissolve makeup, then add water and massage again until it turns milky. Then rinse off.
Like the cleansing jelly, my makeup lifted off easily with the cleansing oil (makeup removed on right hand side of picture). It even did a good job on the red lipstick and managed to get it off fairly easily without a need for repeated swipes from the cotton pad. I like that it contains organic olive oil – we all know how good olive oil is for skin and hair, and that it moisturises and softens the skin. For its price: $10.90 for 100ml, I would definitely recommend this cleansing oil for anyone who’s looking for a hardworking makeup remover at a pocket-friendly price.
I finished off the cleansing routine with the EVERSOFT 100% Organic Mulberry Facial Cleanser. It contains Hyaluronic Acid for long-lasting hydration and Organic Mulberry Extract to brighten dull skin. My skin felt really good after using both products!
