I think you never really ever get over losing someone. You move on with the motions of daily life, get busy and not think about the grief, or the person that you’ve lost, but the memory of this person can hit you suddenly when you’re most unaware and unprepared. It may be a look-alike on the street, a particular smell, or the food he/she used to love to eat. It hits you without warning out of the blue and ‘wham’, floodgates open and the tears will fall uncontrollably…until you tell yourself to stop, breathe and move on. Stop thinking. Move on back into the clockwork motion of everyday, and stop yourself from missing, from reminiscing.
‘Remembering is easy. Missing you is the heartache that never goes away.’
I miss you Mama and Kong Kong, I think about you all the time.
