Delayed Updates!

Has it already been over 2 weeks since I last wrote in here? Oh my…time really really does fly. I’ve had a pretty jam-packed last 2 weeks,at least by my standards…haha…Hmm, let’s see…I don’t even know where to begin updating!

Let’s start with something about me playing at my piano’s teacher event on the 3rd March. My very talented teacher, Chisheng was invited to perform at the Arts House, “Living Room”. The Living Room is a very quaint, classy, cosy room that sits around 80. Since it was one of my first piano playing performances (besides Star Search that is), I only performed 1 piece. I think I spent over a month drilling myself with that piece…and I think knowing it so well really helped the nerves that night. 🙂 I really enjoyed the intimate experience with music and I’m really starting to enjoy playing the piano for people more and more.

After this event, I was in a slight crazed rush to put together a show reel of my past works for Kosmic Films, an artiste management company I’m working with at the moment. I had to scan through my past acting works and magazine shoots etc to pick stuff I wanted to be put into my showreel…and boy, did I look ridiculous in some of them! I had this really round moon-face when I was 18. I really wonder how I actually got placed in all those ads and stuff I did. Good thing I’ve lost most of the baby weight on my face! Anyway, the showreel is ready now. I’ll share it with everyone soon! Although I felt slightly ripped off for the price I paid for it. :< Sigh…

I still like this photo that David Gan shot for me awhile back and I still use it mostly for portfolios. 🙂

>>>Interjection: I just got a call from my publicist at Kosmic and she’s asking if I could play 2 songs on the piano for a charity event this Saturday. What a rush! ahhhh!!! Possible ?! :S

Sigh…ok, where was I? Showreel….ah yes, a certain someone also came back from his trip to the Great Wall, Finally! So that was nice. I hate missing someone! We managed to squeeze in some alone time too. Nice! 🙂

And….on the Saturday of 8th March, I hosted my very first street event at Bugis Street. I’m quite amazed at the transformation there. So many shops now! And it’s not as hot and stuffy as it used to be. Reminds me of the shops in Bangkok. And, they’ve got some really nice, affordable stuff. Anyway, I was hosting this “Dress & Win” contest that they’re having on now. Firsts are always slightly nerve-wrecking, but I think I did ok…and it was surprisingly rather fun too. I think I like the adrenaline of live shows. Adrenaline junkie!! I will be hosting the finals of the event on April 26th. Do come on down and watch if you guys are free! 🙂

I trooped down to Zouk after for the Cleo Bachelor’s Carnival to support the 2 guys – Andie Chen (bachelor no.2) and Desmond Tan (bachelor no. 38). And again, we had Desmond ‘stripping’… for Cleo this time. So the both of them together with the other 48 were trying to ooze as much sexiness, gorgeousness and adorableness on stage…Quite hilarious. Men whores! Haha…Ok, I’m just kidding. You 2 did very well! And i’m proud of the both of you strutting your stuff up there. 😀

Since I’m on the topic of Cleo Bachelor’s, I’ll have to add that I went for the finals held just on the Friday that passed.

Next up!… My mum recently had 2 super cute Japanese girls come stay at her homestay and I took them out one Sunday. One’s called Nana, 11 years old and studies at International School here. The other girl is Urara, is 8 years old and learning English in Singapore. Urara can’t speak English yet, so I had to squeeze whatever rusy Japanese I had to communicate with her. I took them out for some ice cream, shopping, movie and we went to take neo print! Gosh! I haven’t taken neoprint in ages….! I felt quite ancient but the machines are really advanced now…compared to the ones I used to take in secondary school.

They are 2 super cute and polite girls. I felt a bit like a mother that day taking care of the both of them. Haha, but it was fun…walking with them hand in hand down Orchard Road. 🙂

I did 2 shoots for You-Weekly magazine and a shoot for Teens Magazine just last week too. The You-Weekly shoots were fashion spreads for Spring/Summer fashion and Rocker/Punkish fashion respectively. I loved the colours for Spring/Summer fashion. Very bright, colourful and cheery! 🙂 The Teens magazine shoot was for a ‘one pair of shoes, 4 different styles’ fashion spread. I didn’t manage to take many shots on my camera…but here’s one of me in a sunny yellow dress.

I can’t wait to see them on print soon. First up would be the spring/summer spread in You-Weekly the week after next. Look out for it! 🙂

And, for my final update…I sang at an SAF mass event (Stagmont Camp) last Friday together with my piano teacher on the keyboard and a couple of other singers…again, one of my first few singing performances. Wasn’t as bad as I thought it would be! 🙂
