I spoke to a friend who experienced the life of a singpost courier yesterday. What struck me was, he told me that they only make $900 a month. Many are supporting families on this pittance sum. They have to think doubly hard to treat themselves to a 80 cents coffee (whilst i guzzle my starbucks latte) and choose plain prata over roti john. Some days pass with them only drinking plain water…all because ‘it’s ok if i don’t eat, but my family have to eat’.
Makes me re-think the things that I usually take for granted.
